Fire Detection Systems

Johnson Controls Lithium Ion Risk Prevention System is an early detection solution designed to improve safety in Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and lithium-ion battery installations. The system monitors the air around battery racks and detects off-gases or toxic vapors released during the early stages of battery cell failure.

Early detection helps identify abnormal battery conditions before a thermal runaway event occurs. This allows operators to take preventive action before the failure develops into a fire or a serious safety incident.

The Lithium Ion Risk Prevention System detects very small changes in air composition around lithium-ion batteries. The system provides early warning detection so operators can respond quickly to potential battery failures.

The system can also integrate with Battery Management Systems (BMS), fire detection systems, and fire suppression systems from Johnson Controls. This integration provides comprehensive protection for energy storage facilities, data centers, and lithium-ion battery installations.
